Archbishop Ryan Secures Grant with the Art Futures Partnership

In December, Archbishop Ryan Fine Arts Department Chair Mrs. Teresa Kramer was awarded a grant for the Art Futures Partnership.  This is the eighth time Mrs. Kramer has received the grant for her students.  The partnership offers Ryan art students the opportunity to work with a professional artist.   Mrs. Kramer calls this partnership, “a valuable experience for me and my students.”

Diane Podolsky will work with the 6^th and 7^th period classes for the remainder of the school year teaching the kids various printmaking techniques.  These techniques will be incorporated into a 3-dimensional work which will be on display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  The theme of the work will be “abstracting nature”.

The classes were also rewarded trips to the Philadelphia Museum of Art on January 27 and February 25.  Attached are pictures from the class and the trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art on January 27.
